Description: The new carbon Carbine using the VPP suspension like the tracer 2. The Frame has adjustable travel from 5.5 -6" of suspension travel, and features a 68 degree head angle with a 150mm fork and a 67 degree head angle with a 160mm fork.
This bike is designed to be a super lightweight trail bike and the frame weight for a medium size is 5.5lb with shock.
The geoemtry is very much like the original tracer VPP, one of our favourite bikes here at Moose cycles, although one degree slacker in the head angle, to give the bike more predictable handling whilst going down.
We now have a large test bike built up and very nice it is! It takes what was good about the original tracer vpp and makes it better, stiffer and lighter. Our test bike weighs in at 28lb with a dropper seatpost and proper trail tyres and could easily loose a pound with some more top end components.
The lower bearings now feature a similar collet locking system as used by santa cruz in their vpp bikes to ensure bearing preload is maintained, as well as new replacable zirk grease ports for keeping the bearings packed with grease.
The frame uses the new bb92 bottom bracket standard which uses a press in bb bearing and is simple and stiff.
Dropouts are interchangeable between standard Q/R 135 and bolt through 142mm, just mention which you want when ordering.
