We combined our Luggernaut singlespeed with a Sturmey Archer internal 3 speed hub to create a versatile around town commuter that is perfect for just about any city. With plenty of room for fenders, rack and large tires, the Luggernaut 3 speed gives you the simplicity and efficiency of a singlespeed but with the added gear options when you need it.
Sturmey Archer has been a pioneer of internally geared hubs since 1902. They utilize a proven design that isn't sophisticated and is easy to maintain for a lifetime of use. When pedaling in the middle gear it is totally neutral just like a singlespeed and then once you shift up or down you get a 33% change to tackle hills up or down. For added reliability and good looks, are using new thumb shifter that has a classic clean look when compared to grip and trigger shifters.
The Luggernaut features our very own Katana lugged fork with a unique investment cast crown and slightly curved legs for improved road dampening and massive clearance for tires. The tubeset is classic butted Columbus Cromor seamless tubing and all the lugs are investment cast for a crisp sharp look. There is a tremendous amount of hand finishing that goes into this frame to give the lugs that perfect. We finish the frame off with a phosphate treatment that protects the entire frame from rust and corrosion and our copper metal headbadge.
The geometry of the Luggernaut is fairly relaxed with longer stays and slacker head angle for improved stability. The Luggernaut is a breeze to handle getting you around town quickly, comfortably and as always, in style.
